My Great Grandfathers is a popular and busy restaurant concentrating on fresh seasonal produce and good wholesome British cooking.......with an exciting twist

The quaint and cosy 30 plus seating establishment is the creation of Head Chef and Owner Matt Gabb and his wife Shiho and is situated in a lovely medieval building in the Gloucestershire town of Tewkesbury, literally opposite the famous Tewkesbury Abbey

Central to Matt's offering is the Roast of the Day but the menu also has old favourites like Steak and Kidney Hob Goblin Pie and Angus Beef through to a range of seafood, lighter grills and salads. Menus change now and again to take advantage of market availability and freshness. Home made puddings like Chef's freshly baked crumble and custard or Turkish Delight and Ice Cream are becoming firm favourites.

The restaurant is open everyday for evening dinner.
On Saturdays and Sundays, hours are from ten o'clock in the morning to ten at night.
During the week doors open at 6.30pm to 10.00pm

The wine list has a selection of My Great Grandfathers own labeled French wines specially selected and supplied by Churchill Vintners of Birmingham. Well chosen spirits, soft drinks, beers and the restaurants own blended coffee from James Gourmet Coffee, Herefordshire, are on offer. A selection of Fentimans botanically brewed drinks are also available.

The Interior was recently re-designed by Matt and Shiho following the July 2007 floods and reflect the history and tradition of the surrounding area combined with comfort and quality.

Head Cook and Owner Matthew Gabb said, "Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas have quite range, choice and styles of restaurant offerings but quality freshly-made British cooking does not feature strongly here or seemingly across the United Kingdom. I intend to concentrate on honest wholesome cooking and use the finest freshest ingredients to provide and showcase my British cooking.

Why not put My Great Grandfathers to the test...............after all the proof is in the pudding!
